Specifications:

The Compaq Presario CQ61-410US is the latest model in the very affordable CQ61 series. Compared to the older (CQ61-310US), this new model comes with a set of more powerful specs and a lower price tag. This model comes with a 2.1Ghz AMD Sempron M120 processor, 2GB of DDR2 RAM and a 250GB hard drive. This model was just made available for sale earlier this month (Jan 2010). The 15.6-inch screen is a HD display and it comes coupled with an ATI Mobility 4200 Radeon graphics card. This model runs on the 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

Design:

The Compaq Presario CQ61-410US is a full sized 15.6-inch laptop. It measures at around 14.89 x 9.93 x 1.5 inches and weighs 5.9 pounds. We had the pleasure of trying out the black colored model and its sports HP's signature 'imprint finish'. While the keyboard and external casing is black in color, the track pad area has a silver finish. All in all, this model sports a classic and professional design.

Features & Performance:

The CQ61-410US is powered by a 6-cell battery than can last up to 4.25 hours at one go. It has 802.11/b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity as well as a slew of other ports that includes 3 USB ports, VGA output, audio jacks and a 5-in-1 digital memory card reader. If you need some extra multitasking performance, you can always upgrade the RAM to maximum of 4GB. This laptop is best suited for running daily and moderate computing tasks. At the moment, the Compaq Presario CQ61-410US is priced at just around 9 each, which is just about the price of a netbook model.
